The meat processing industry in Pakistan is a vital pillar of the national economy. From 2024 to 2025, the total meat production reached 6.138 million tons (with beef accounting for 2.719 million tons).
In the fiscal year 2024, the export value set a record at 512 million US dollars (up 20% year-on-year), and the export volume was 124,000 tons (up 24% year-on-year). Among them, the UAE (39%) and Saudi Arabia (28%) are the main markets.
Large-scale enterprises dominate exports. Small family workshops and traditional processing households account for more than 60% of local supply, forming a coexisting pattern of "large-scale production + decentralized operation".
